Summer Fun at our “Waterpark!”

It’s hot. It’s humid. My husband’s doing yard work. I’m working. But… the boys!?

They want to go swimming or head to a waterpark! PRONTO! (Which isn’t possible!)

So what’s a mom to do? Make your own! Thank goodness for our Highlander Playset! Just by adding some water to the slide completely transformed their afternoon!

My oldest came up with this idea at our house earlier this summer. It’s not terribly environmentally friendly or good for your lawn to run the hose for hours, though, so my husband loaned the kids his utility pump, and although the pictures in the blog (here: http://munkinarts.com/blog/2010/06/29/welcome-to-the-water-park/)show a little round pool at the bottom, we’ve since replaced it with a larger, inflatable rectangular pool. Not only do we use a limited amount of water now, but the kids also enjoy it more because the water is no longer ice cold!

Oh I love it… this is way cooler than the water park too because you don’t have to stand in line 🙂
