On Father’s Day 2004, our family received a wonderful gift. That gift was Jacob Adam… who wasn’t expected for a few more weeks.

The earth has turned a few times since that day. Seasons have passed. Days have melted into years. And today, on Father’s Day exactly 6 years later, Jake turns 6… and he continues to be a wonderful, wonderful, precious, precious gift.

Jake came into this world fast and he hasn’t stopped since! He is the guy with the ball or crayon or book or game. Jake is the guy with a wonderful story or question or curiosity. Jake loves to run and climb and play. Jake is the guy with the sweetest voice and most inquisitive eyes. Jake is the guy who sings and, yes… he can dance! Jake is the guy with the gentlest hugs and cutest little kisses.  Jake is the middle child… adored by both his older sister Maddie and younger brother Dylan. Jake is like layers and layers of delicious birthday cake!

Jake loves life and life loves Jake. If his enthusiasm could be captured… well, a Nobel Prize would certainly be won. His smile. His giggle. The way his eyes squint when he laughs.  6 years.  6 years of such a perfect presence.  Such a perfect present…  Jake!
