Fashion Advice from Oprah

Oprah is an icon. Plain and simple. Going to see one of her shows in Chicago has been on my bucket list for years and years and years. Well… I got to cross that off my bucket list on Friday! My friend Meredith (also known as the incredible @Hoo_Dee_Hoo on Twitter!) invited me along with Lizzie (a.k.a. @LizzieBTV) and 2 of her longtime girlfriends to “O” Magazine’s 10th Anniversary Show in NYC! The line-up was incredible… Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Nate, Suze Orman, Christina Aguilera, Adam Glassman, Jane Seymour, Susan Lucci, Vanessa Williams and Sybil Shepard! It was an amazing, amazing show to see. Not to mention… the energy that Oprah exudes is indescribable. It was truly a great moment for me.

So how does this tie into fashion at all?

Ahh… I can fit fashion into anything! 😉

Oprah graced the stage in the most spectacular pink sequin skirt that I have ever seen. It was breath-taking… the color, the length, the fit. It was exceptional! Obviously you can’t stand up and scream out, “Hey Oprah… where did you get that skirt?” But – well, thankfully… it did come up! It turns out, Oprah took the GORGEOUS Isaac Mizrahi pink sequin dress from her “O” Magazine 10th Anniversary cover –

And turned it into a SKIRT!

Fashion GENIUS, right?

So… if you’re looking for a way to preserve a dress or change up a look – keep in mind this fashion trick. You can always alter. Just make sure you have a tailor and/or seamstress you trust!
