Suave Party

When I was a little girl, Suave was what my mother would be for our household all the time. It’s funny, I actually still remember what the bottles looked like. That was the time in my life before I even knew I needed to use something called “conditioner.” (Now if I don’t use it, I honestly can’t get a comb through my hair.)

When I went off to college – and needed to start buying my own shampoo and conditioner – Suave was my go-to product. It worked well and it was priced well – my 2 areas of criteria and concern. Back then, shampoo and conditioner was like gold, we used to leave our products in the bathroom area on our dorm floor… and used to HOPE that nobody would ever use someone else’s! Oh, those were the days… now I live with 5 boys, quite the change.

So… when Suave approached me to host a SUAVE Party, I absolutely jumped at the chance. Suave is introducing some new products and scents to their line, so I was all over checking them out! The chance to try something new totally intriguing me… especially with my history with Suave.

I invited over some of my friends to enjoy the Suave-ness of the new products with me. What struck us all was the cool green bottles – very eye-catching. The green (quite literally) just pops! I loved it. And then we saw the 3 different scents (Almond & Shea Butter/Aloe Vera & Ginseng/Rosemary & Mint)… and we were (like kids) giddy. My favorite was the Almond & Shea Butter – the scent just stays with you all day long, it’s awesome! It’s funny, as women we get passionate over our shampoo/conditioner scent. I know there are some scents I absolutely stay away from… and then some that I absolutely seek out! Each one of us gravitated towards a particular scent… it was fun to see what one liked which.

Suave also sent some styling products, and we had some fun “experimenting” with them. I haven’t used hair spray since Paula Abdul hit the charts with “Straight Up,” so I had a blast trying it out (again). I loved the smell of it, not too intrusive – very light and airy. Not to mention, my hair didn’t feel like it was bullet proof – and you could hardly tell I had it on. I even did some mousse styling going on in my sons hair – which they thought was the funniest and coolest thing in the world.

It was a great evening. Appetizers. Desserts. Drinks. And HAIR STYLING. Plus – a great chance to relax and have a good time with friends and family. I loved having my mother there, too. She – after all – was the one that introduced me to Suave – oh…. more than 25 years ago.

Thanks so much, Suave!

I love these kind of laid back parties where you just get to have fun trying new things. I’m having an Arnold Sandwich Thins party this weekend and am looking forward to it. Sounds like you had a great party, Audrey!
