Recently I hosted a Degree Party at my house, which was very cool.

Let me set the stage. This past Holiday season, I was sent some of Degree’s new deodorant and body spray to check out for stocking stuffer gifts. When I tell you I loved them, I’m not exaggerating. I absolutely loved the product – and I’m not usually one to gush over deodorant and body spray. I loved the spray so much, that when I had it confiscated from me at airport security in early December, I was actually upset. (Yes, upset.) I remember the security guard looking at me and saying, “Really? Over this?” And I nodded. “Yes… over that. I wanted to smell good on my trip!” (He responded – “Buy a new one.”)

So… when Degree approached me about hosting a Degree party this January for their Women Ultra Clear Red Satin, I jumped at the chance! Just coming off the People’s Choice awards earlier that month, I loved the angle of having the Red Satin be the ultimate red carpet essential (since it’s unbeatable against white marks). They teamed up with actress Christina Hendrick’s, who dared (and did, looking gorgeous!) to make a statement in red on the red carpet at the SAG Awards.

What I loved even more was that Degree is all about empowering women, so they invited America to vote (at DegreeRedDress.com) on what red dress Christina Hendrick’s should wear to the SAG Awards. With every vote, a $1 was donated to ClothesOffOurBack.com – an amazing, amazing organization that supports the empowerment of women. And after the awards, Christina’s dress was auctioned off on ClothesOffOurBack.com, as well. I just loved seeing fashion/beauty translate to something so empowering and important and truly special.

My party wasn’t exactly a red carpet event… but I’ll tell you what – we had a BLAST! Although, I will admit – I did wear a red dress! We had our nails. Which was a blast! We had food and drinks. We had music. We had some great conversation and lots of laughs. And we had fun… all with Degree as our chance to come together and do this!

Not to mention… everyone got to leave with a Degree Red Satin Deodorant!
