Bliss(dom) FASHIONS.

This past weekend I had the pleasure to attend and speak at the (amazing) Blissdom Conference in Nashville, TN. Three women whom I just adore and respect hosted a spectacular weekend – Alli Worthington, Barbara Jones and Paula Bruno. I mean, seriously… talk about knocking the ball out of the park for a conference. They did that – and beyond. If you are (or want to be) a mom blogger… this was (is) your mecca. Like-minded moms/women who blog, all coming together to discuss and connect on so many different levels of blogging. For me, it was like being “home.”

I need to sit down and put my thoughts to paper (or screen) about the weekend… I do have a post in me, I just think the weekend dazzled me so much, I need time to digest it all.

But… drum roll please – the one thing I can and have to speak on about the conference were the FASHIONS. Moms did not disappoint! The fashions and styles were awesome! Um… we know how to kick a little fashion butt! Moms know how to dress… that’s for sure.

Here are some FASHIONS done oh-so-fabulous from good ol’ Blissdom –

BELTS:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Belts are the way-to-go! I love belts… they really can create such fun and different looks for outfits. Here were 2 different belts done beautifully…

Picture 7

Leah rocking the brown belt with a black dress… stunning! I have always loved the combination of these colors!

Picture 9

Rachel chicly sporting the chain-link belt… I love this laid-back (yet ultra-trendy) look over her jeans!

SCARVES:

Ms. Alli Worthington ROCKED the scarf this past weekend. She looked fabulous… and I love love love this dash of red (not to mention those kickin boots!) with this outfit. It’s always fun to add a dash of fun/bright/bold colors!

PURPLE:

This has been the “it” color of fall/winter. Purple looks beautiful on women… it’s classic and soft and perfect all at the same time. One of my favorite things about the color purple is that the various shades and hues are just stunning. Look at how gorgeous these three lovely ladies – Jodi, Jo-Lynne and Mel – look!

POLKA DOTS:

Polka dots are HUGE right now! When I saw Katie (quite literally) commanding this beauty of a dress, I stopped in my tracks. I have always been one to love a little “something-something” on my clothing, and polka dots are just that perfect touch!

MONOCHROMATIC, PERFECT COLOR, CARDIGAN SHAWL and ACCESSORIES:

OK… there is so much fabulousness going on in this photo, I couldn’t help but include it! From left to right… we’ve got the dazzling Kimba in MONOCHROMATIC style, Laurie in that gorgeous green top, Marie rocking the Cardigan Shawl Wrap and Allison looking stunning in her chic skirt and blouse with fabulous red belt (and necklace!).

FABULOUSNESS:

I met Robin last year at SXSW when we were roomies. From the second I met her, I could tell she was gracious and kind and sweet… and hilariously funny! She’s got a good heart. A genuine heart. We’ve chatted fashion before in person and on Twitter…so I wanted to be able to share this beautiful photo of her from the night of the cocktail party at FUSE:

To say this dress was gorgeous is an understatement…

It was really great to meet you. After reading this (and after our snow subsides) I’m heading out to buy a belt and some purple!

And I agree, Robin’s dress was just beautiful!

Belts….hmmm. I usually try to avoid them at all costs.

What do you suggest for those of us who are a little…rounder? Actually short and round. They look great on tall and thin girls, and short and thin girls. But not so great on me. I am petite and curvy.

    Avoid them all together?

On a different note: that Katie? She can definitely rock a dress!

Love that green top Laurie has on in the above pic too.

    Good highlights! Thanks!

I don’t think I’ve ever been a ‘do’ before! There was so much gorgeous at Blissdom, from accessories to shoes (oh em gee the shoes!) I couldn’t take it all in.

I’ve been following your blog for just a few short months. It came up when I googled “how to wear skinny jeans.” Keep the fashion posts coming, they’re great! For someone who knows nothing about fashion yet has the ‘want to,’ this is really helping. How about a quarterly blog installment for 2010? ie: Fashion 101, 201, 301, 401…highlighting perhaps everything beginners need to know about fashion…while doing everything else you do!
    : )

Whaaaaat – I made the fashion list?! Hot dog!

Although I still haven’t hit the belt train. I’m gonna have to give in and buy a big fashionable belt soon!

I particularly love those lovely purple hues. It looks like the Blissdom Girls really know their stuff when it comes to fashion!

Thank you for sharing these photos with us. Is there a Part II to this post? Oh, I hope! I hope!

Awww, Audrey, your sweet words about me could be said about YOU! On top of that, DO YOU UNDERSTAND I HAVE NEVER MADE ANYONE’S FASHION FAVES?? Coming from you, it’s like I’m starting at the top!

It never occurred to me the dress would be a great conversation starter…perhaps I should take note :).

Love all these mentions, but the funny thing, is I was pretty clueless throughout the weekend about fashion. Except for shoes. Red shoes I noticed over and over.

    (Thanks for including me…I’m honored 🙂 x0)

Thank you so much (again) for putting me on your list! I love polka-dots so much (as you can tell from my site). You looked so beautiful all weekend!
