East vs. West Coast Fashions

After spending a week in Los Angeles… oh, you LUCKY PEOPLE!… I realized (even more) just the difference in weather and fashions from coast-to-coast. The fashions aren’t “different” – don’t get me wrong… it’s just that the weather greatly impacts fashion choices.  And… even though I love New England – there was something cool about not traveling with insulated boots, my shearling hat and puffer coat!

So I had some fun the other night doing some East vs. West Fashion Comparisons…

What you would wear on the east coast… and the version of it on the west coast… (and vice versa!) RIGHT NOW…

Let’s take the Chunky Cardigan…

Apparently I need to move to the West coast as I was at Banana Repblic yesterday and bought a cascading tank and a non-ruffle cascading vest

I’m from the south and I’m afraid Southerners borrow from both coasts. The trends don’t lie, but they do ignore weather conditions.

The down filled NorthFace coats were actually a fad in my hometown about 10 years ago. I remember walking into a movie theater when it was about 50 degrees out and seeing a family of 4 dressed in down filled NorthFace coats.

Love this post, Audrey! I had to laugh because I can see an alternate post with versions fit for us wayyyyyy north of the border! Tough to be stylish with -30 with wind chill temps! Believe me, I still *try*, but I end up freezing my butt off!

How I long to live somewhere warm!!!

That’s hilarious Audrey! I love both though, maybe just because I’m a fashionista and I want a little bit of everything in my closet!

Oh how I love LA! I miss my home town and the fashions. I can’t stand puffer jackets to be honest.

Also, I like the east coast flirty/chic better then the west coast but that’s just me.

HELP! Over the summer I moved from a hip and happening Silicon Valley town to a pretty preppy LLBean clone area in New England… need advice on how to get my styles to translate without looking like an idiot in my three-inch wedge sandals and graphic tees… any suggestions? (I have yet to see a woman in this town pair heels with jeans… crazy, eh?)
