On October 6th… (I remember the day because it was my mom’s 57th birthday and the day she skydove!) I headed to NYC for a LaundryHE “Bubbles and Bubbly” event hosted by Wisk.

I remember when I was first invited to the event, a question was tossed out at me, “Do you think more bubbles equals better cleaning?”

Yup! Yes! Absolutely!

When I bathe the boys I always add lots of soap, which creates tons and tons and tons of bubbles. The same “science” surely would apply to my washing machine, right!? As a matter of fact, my sons LOVE to stand in front of the washing machine and spot the bubbles inside! Every time they spot bubbles, I proudly explain, “See… the clothes are getting super-duper washed and cleaned!”

Well, looks like I may have been a little off. We don’t have to tell my sons, do we? 😉

Being a new owner of a Frigidaire High Efficiency Washing Machine, I was very curious to learn and hear about the science behind all the bubbles. How is it that more bubbles can actually keep my clothes from getting clean? Honestly… it just didn’t make sense to me. There were Laundry experts there to help us understand the “science” behind it all. As it turns out, HE washers use anywhere from 20-66% less water and 50-80% less energy than a traditional washing machine. So essentially, with less water, less suds are best because it won’t create a sudsy residue on the clothing. OK… making much more sense. MUCH. MORE. SENSE.

After my science lesson… and truly an “ah-ha” moment in the laundry department, we got to experience some bubbles in different kinds of capacities. We had a Champagne tasting… showing that one glass releases 30 bubbles every second! And my favorite… a Bubble Fortune Reading! That was the coolest for me… I’ve never had my “bubbles” read.
