4:00 am…

There are not many thing that’ll get me out of bed at 4:00 am.

Yes, AM.

But this will.  Jane’s first Half IronMan.  70.3 miles of strength.  1.2 miles of ocean swimming.  56 miles cycling from Narragansett to Providence.  And a 13.1 mile run through downtown Providence, up College Hill (twice… and for those who know College Hill, that is an IronMan in itself!), and back to the magnificent Rhode Island Capital Building.

It’s said that a picture paints a thousand words, and I’m going to show you some pictures… but it would take an infinite amount of words to describe the awe, the inspiration, the pride, the LOVE I have for Jane at setting her goal to complete this grueling race and never-say-never.  Last year at this very time, our son Keith and daughter-in-law Nicole completed the same race.  This inspired Jane to kick into high gear… and, to borrow a phrase, Just Do It.

Well, she did it.  And she did it in an AWESOME time.  5 hours, 45 minutes. Smiling.  Family members showed up at various spots in the race to cheer Janie on, and at the finish line… to her great big smile.  My heart is bigger than all the pictures in the entire world!
