If ever a child radiated warmth and delight and happiness and endless joy and curiosity… it is Benjamin!  And today, we celebrate Benjamin’s 2nd birthday!

Benjamin’s smile is as big as a quarter moon in a starry sky.  And it’s always there to greet you.

Benjamin’s voice is as clear as sunny day.  He says so many words, so clearly… my favorite ones being strung together like this: Ohhhh, I wuv you, Gramma! or when referring to Henry,  See my baby?  He’s so cute! And a new one, when he wants his brothers,  C’mon, guys!

Benjamin loves to get his shoes and jacket when he knows he’ll be leaving the house.  Audrey often has to wrestle William and Alex to move it… but always finds Benjamin standing at the back door with his little sneakers and jacket, all ready to go.

Benjamin loves donuts.  I don’t really know where this love originated, but he can smell a Dunkin’ Donuts a mile away.  I always try to avert his attention when approaching one, but he will, inevitably, call out, “Gramma.  Donuts.”  I’m not always a sucker, but I am more times than I’d like to admit.  Sorry, Audrey and Matt!

Benjamin loves books.  He will sit on Pop-up’s lap for hours, turning pages and pointing at things, and laughing out loud.  He loves the alphabet and calls out letters to me.  He loves to color and especially to draw circles.  He loves Indiana Jones and Batman because his brothers do, but his favorites are still Dora and Diego.  He will sit on my lap at my computer and watch me type and research.  His curiosity is astounding.

Benjamin is a beautiful child on the inside and outside.  I know he was sent to us to bring joy and laughter, and this is what he does every moment of each day.

On this most special day, I pour out my love to my darling little Benja… and I thank God for this most special and perfect blessing.  Benjamin lights my life.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENJAMIN!  GRANDMA LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE!
