I woke up this morning to something I haven’t seen in a long time… a beam of sun peaking through my bedroom curtains.
Yes, it’s been cold and cloudy and windy and wet in Rhode Island. But not today. The sky is azure. My forsythia is ready. My lilacs are waiting. My winterberries are smiling green. The wind is dancing. The earth smells like spring.
I am a season girl. I love each season… and anyone who knows me knows that I never complain about snow or ice or wind or heat or humidity. I believe that each day, and whatever it brings, is a blessing and a gift.
But I’m beginning to think in these middle years of mine that I am leaning toward spring and her lovely awakenings as perhaps the most beautiful of all. What is your favorite season?
I’m like you. I love all the seasons. There is something special about each one. If I had to pick one though, I might have to go with summer because I am off school then and have so much more time to enjoy the little things that I sometimes miss during the school year.
Spring! I have always loved spring. It’s so hopeful. Everything that seems so dead comes alive again. The birds return, the sun shines, and it just seems new, beautiful, and filled with growth. My only sadness is that in the last few years, it seems like winter lasts so long that we go straight to summer.
I’m the same way, I am a seasons girl. I don’t think I could live somewhere that didn’t have snow and humidity alike. I enjoy each season and am always happy to welcome the next one! At the moment, of course, I’m eagerly awaiting the (full) arrival of spring, but my favorite season is fall. I love the changing of the leaves, the cooler weather, the smell in the air, the jeans and sweaters, the time leading up to Thanksgiving and, of course, the many fall birthdays in our family. 🙂
I love Spring! I love how new and fresh everything feels. I love how it’s always so needed after winter’s coldness and brings an instant smile to my face when I realize that my flip flops are here to stay and socks are a thing of the past!
Ohhh…tough one! I love ALL the seasons! Winter, because of the beautiful, fresh snow. Spring, because of the freshness and new life it brings. Summer, because of all that beautiful sunshine and time spent on the beach. Fall, because of the crisp air and glorious Fall colours!

I have always loved Fall the best. I like the different colored leaves and we have a favorite stretch of road not far that we like to take drives to see all the colors of the trees. I like to wear jackets too…Not coats.
