The BOYS.

Ever since I started my series – 365 Days of Fashion Advice for Moms – my personal blog has taken a bit of a back seat. I have become so immersed in finding and sharing fashion tips, that I haven’t been updating on the boys. As any mother knows, kids change so fast… and I started this blog as a way to capture my motherhood adventures, so I wanted to make sure I took a moment today, and truly take in these… well, precious moments.

William continues to amaze me every single day. He has been begging us to teach him math. Asks us to “quiz” him all the time. And he loves to be able to show off his “I can count to 100” skills. It’s funny, last week we were looking through old photos and we found one of William taking a bath when he was about 10 months old. He and Henry could be twins. They are identical as babies. But it was what William said that made me laugh. I asked him, “Who is that little man in the tub?” He looked at the photo and smiled a HUGE grin. He looked again and said, “That’s me. You know how I know?” I asked how. He said, “Because Mommy, there aren’t any other babies in the tub with me!” And that is his “gauge” of knowing that it was a time before all these brothers!

Alexander is just obsessed with Indiana Jones. When I say obsessed, I may be putting it too lightly! He wears an Indiana Jones hat (William’s hat from his Halloween costume) all day long. As a matter of fact, he only takes it off for school (not allowed to wear it) and for bedtime. As much as we keep joking he’s going to get “bugs in his hair,” he refuses to part with it. He loves it. And – yes, we have to call him, “Indy.” My father asked me yesterday if we had any of this on video camera to show him some day, and we haven’t yet. I need to do that. Some day I will be telling him all about this “Indy” days, and I have a feeling he won’t believe just how INTO INDY he was.

Benjamin. I look at Benjamin and wonder to myself, “Where has the time gone?” Do you ever feel like someone has just pressed fast-forward and you don’t know when it happened and you just sort of want it to slow down? He’s a BOY. He’s not a baby anymore. And that’s so weird for me. He’s talking and laughing and running and jumping and is just one-of-the-boys around the house. He’ll be 2 years old next month. I think the funniest thing with Benjamin is when he sees his brothers after his naps. He looks at them and says, “Hi Ill-iam! Hi Ally! Hi baby!” And that’s his greeting every single day. It cracks me up! He’s so excited to see them… and quite possibly the best of all, he’s quite the little instigator when it comes to his brothers. It’s hilarious! And William and Alexander just let him be…

And then there’s Henry. Little Henry. He’s almost 9 months. He’s crawling and holds his own bottles and eats baby food like it’s going out of style! He’s just so cute. The little guy always has a smile. Never without one. If he cries, it’s always because he needs a diaper change or he’s hungry. That’s it. He’s got the best disposition in the world. I know what people mean when they say, “If I knew they would all be like this, I would have 10 more.” Because I would. He is just a delight. And his brothers? Well, he has all 3 wrapped around his little finger. They all call him, “Henny.”

So that’s the BOYS. They are all getting big. Getting stir-crazy for warm weather. And keep asking me if I’m going to have another baby soon! How funny is that? And no… not yet. Not for a couple more years! 🙂

So sweet. Glad you wrote the update. It is amazing how fast it goes. Brady will be 1 on Saturday. One year old. Noah is 10, Norah is 8. Where’d the time go?

They sound like such sweet boys. I have all girls, so when they were little it was all about princesses and pink sparkles. Now it’s Star Wars believe it or not! The clone wars are big here. They might be girls, but they know what they like.
