Sometimes impromptu plans end up being the most fun.
On Saturday I was at my parents’ house with my dogs. My nephews William and Alex were over, too, getting ready to go sledding. My parents asked if I wanted to come, but I had a little to-do list for work that I wanted to get started on.
So they left and I got a few things done. But not a lot.
I started to wish I had gone sledding with them. I looked at my dogs and thought that they’d have a blast at the sledding hill park, playing and watching their human cousins tubing it down the hill. And I looked at my camera, and realized I had the perfect opportunity to get some great winter photos.
So I loaded the dogs in my car and drove to the park. Surprisingly, my parents and my nephews were the only ones there sledding (it’s usually a very popular place).
I was, indeed, able to get some great photos of all the fun…
Sethy rolling around in the snow (one of his favorite activities):
Ryder playing ball with her cousins (William, specifically, in this photo):
And, one of my favorite photos of the day, my parents and my nephews on their makeshift toboggan, barreling down the hill:
I’ve got make an effort to start doing more things that aren’t on my to-do list.
