Sometimes impromptu plans end up being the most fun.
On Saturday I was at my parents’ house with my dogs. My nephews William and Alex were over, too, getting ready to go sledding. My parents asked if I wanted to come, but I had a little to-do list for work that I wanted to get started on.
So they left and I got a few things done. But not a lot.
I started to wish I had gone sledding with them. I looked at my dogs and thought that they’d have a blast at the sledding hill park, playing and watching their human cousins tubing it down the hill. And I looked at my camera, and realized I had the perfect opportunity to get some great winter photos.
So I loaded the dogs in my car and drove to the park. Surprisingly, my parents and my nephews were the only ones there sledding (it’s usually a very popular place).
I was, indeed, able to get some great photos of all the fun…
Sethy rolling around in the snow (one of his favorite activities):
Ryder playing ball with her cousins (William, specifically, in this photo):
And, one of my favorite photos of the day, my parents and my nephews on their makeshift toboggan, barreling down the hill:
I’ve got make an effort to start doing more things that aren’t on my to-do list.
OMG Seth cracks me up! He is too cute rolling in the snow!
You’re right – those are exactly the things that turn out to be the most fun. I’ve been living and dying by my to-do list recently myself. No wonder months keep flying by! Glad you had a great day – that looks like a lot of fun. I’m sure the dogs loved playing with their cousins in the snow! What could be more fun on a winter day? That last photo is priceless. 🙂
I love that last pic! It took me a second to find your dad on there!
What a fun time!!
Oh, this brings back memories! What wonderful pix – thanks for sharing!
I love that last picture! What a fun celebration in spontaneity.
This looks so fun, so glad you had these moments of awesomeness with the fam!
Love. love, LOVE the photos! Great post, Jane! You guys look like you’re such a fun bunch to hang with!
Okay, and aren’t those kiddies the cutest?!?! Of course I mean Audrey’s boys AND Ryder and Seth!!
