The Car Pool – Tricks of the trade

I got an email from one of my dear friends asking me to give some morning “Car Pool Fashion” tips. Let’s face it… whether you’re a stay-at-home-mom, a working out-of-the-home mom, a working in-the-home mom… we’ve all been through (or will go through) the dreaded CAR POOL. Nursery school. Preschool. Elementary school. Middle school. High school.

I know what I look like when I get up in the morning. It’s not always a “safe” look. My hair is usually doing it’s own thing. I have no make-up on. And – I’ll just be frank – I’m not a morning person.

So… I’m going to be giving some fashion/beauty tips to moms for the morning car pool.

I’ve already given the BASEBALL CAP IT advice. Easy trick. Hides any bed hair. AND! Best of all, you can toss on a baseball cap in the winter, spring, summer or fall.

Today – Day #43 – get some sunglasses. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times sunglasses have saved me in the morning car pool department. I remember – specifically – (and see attached photo) on William and Alexander’s first day of school this year, I was crying like a baby seeing Alexander going off and becoming a “big school boy!” My sunglasses? Yup, hid it all. And then, of course, there are the days you wake up late… or have been up all night with the “baby”… or (happened last year 3 times) have Pink Eye and don’t want ANYONE SEEING YOU! Sunglasses have been my best friend.

Plus… you look totally fabulous. That counts for something, right!? 😉 My husband likes to call these sunglasses my “goggles”… thanks, honey! 🙂

So SUNGLASSES. Toss them on. Wear them proud. Just one trick of the trade in the morning car pool…

I like wearing sunglasses too for sun protection and hides your eye bags or tired looking eyes specially for new moms like me. Sunglasses, you rock! Thanks!

I love the sunglasses trick. I use them morning noon and night(ok, not night.) if I haven’t put makeup on.
