Don’t know why I’ve been on this kick…

Well, I kinda actually do… know why I’ve been on this exercise expose kick as of late.

I started exercising again. The word EXERCISE stares at me each morning from my night stand notebook as I crawl out of bed. That one word is #1-top-banana-numero-uno on my list of New Year’s Resolutions 2009. I haven’t let myself down… ‘cuz under that all upper-case demand is this little proverb: One unable to dance blames the unevenness of the floor. Translation: No excuses.

The New Year began with a splash, and it’s been uphill all the way. Uphill running, that is. And swimming. Bicycling will begin in a few weeks when the snow, salt, sand, slush and generally tempestuous New England winter winds down a bit (no, I just cannot get my butt to a spin class where I’ll be left in the dust even when there is no dust. No way). But let me set you straight here by telling you that I’m not a latent runner, swimmer or cyclist. Picture that SNL Synchronized Swimming Skit with the famous words, “I don’t swim.” Well, that was me. ‘Til now. My goal is to participate in a Sprint Triathlon in mid-summer. OK. Truth. My goal is to finish a Sprint Triathlon.

Maybe it’s the “wisdom” of menopause. No, not the hot flashes, memory lapses, weight gain in all the wrong places… but that feeling of being all 12 years old again, where I can kick some ass just because I want to. Even if it’s just kicking my own ass!

But back to the other kick I’m on. Ladies’ Locker Rooms. Women’s Exercise Tights. And SPORTS BRAS. I need a little support here. (And not just the “You can do it, Grandma” kind.) I’m 56. I can’t mash my mams into a straight-jacket. Tether my tatas. Or batten down my honkers. I need a little flotation device. Props, so to speak. My breasts have been very good to me, and to my babies, and now it’s my turn to return the favor. Give me a sports bra made for the grillwork of a grandma… soft, slightly padded… nips not an option.

Any suggestions?

I’m through.

I am proud of you for doing so well with working out! I have been doing light exercise almost daily with this pregnancy, and I really think I am feeling better physically and mentally. It’s not always easy to do after working all day, but it’s worth it.
I realized that I needed a sports bra when I’d run on the treadmill at work and the boys would slowwwwwwly meander past, elbowing each other. Oh yeah, that was a sad moment in my life! Anyway, I love the Champion sports bras at Target.

I started working out every day again in December and struggled with the Sports Bra issue also! I’m a 36D so I have to be properly dressed shall we say or I’ll knock myself out! lol! I found one that I LOVE at Target! I have been searching for a link for you but I can’t find one! Anywho, it’s by Champion and it doesn’t have underwires (that would be uncomfortable) but it does have stitching where an underwire on a bra would be and a bra cup thing in it so you have added support. Am I making any sense at all??????? I also have one of the regular seamless ones that you see on the website and while it works pretty well the other one is still my fav for support! I lift for 45 minutes and do an hour on the elliptical every day and it works great for me!

I wish I could be of help. Since I have been exercising and now have lost 31 pounds I really need some support. The weight has went much faster up top then I ever thought it would.

KUDOS to you for doing the exercising 🙂

I wish I had your energy and ambition! I was doing really well going to the gym 5 days a week, and then I got sick. Now, I need to start back and it feels like starting all over again. So hard! I just workout in my regular “old” bras (not the ones I wear every day.) I’m a 36DD and it’s really tough to find a sports bra that works for me. I have a couple, but they don’t do what I need them to do. I hope someone has some suggestions.
