Ford Motor Company allowed me to test-drive their 2009 Ford Flex November 25th – December 1st. I took the test-drive a bit further. I (along with the 5 men in my life) test-drove the Ford Flex on a road trip to Pittsburgh, PA.
500 miles. 5 states – Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A 6’2″ husband. And 4 boys – 4 and under – all in carseats.
Ford has always been special to us. My husband and I met at Brown University. And one of the reasons he “stood” out to me was that he used to tool around campus in a Ford Econoline Van that he named “Shirly.” Everyone knew “Shirly.” And Miss “Shirly” stayed with us for 3 years – one of which being while we lived in NYC. And every single night we would drive around trying to find street parking that would fit “Shirly.” “She” was rough and tough and safe. Something we loved about her.
Well… we’ve come a long way since those days. And with that has come 4 boys.
We still need something rough and tough and safe… but something designed for a family.
Enter the Ford Flex.
How was it on gas mileage?
That is a great vehicle! I would have loved to have gotten one of those, but it wasn’t quite in the budget. Our Dodge Grand Caravan might not be as cool, but it gets us around.
I loved seeing the video of your road trip. Reminds me of my trip down those same roads a few months ago.
GREAT video, Audrey! You are a natural and it looks like you all really enjoyed the trip. Cool wheels too.
How neat to get to test drive it on a trip. I would love to test drive one with the grand-kids and 4 carseats. Loved the video!
