Honoring angels during the holidays…

How do you honor the angels in your life during the holidays?

For this Christmas Eve, each member of my family has chosen a favorite recipe of my mother-in-law… and we will gather for our celebration, with all the grandchildren and my mom and Barry’s brother’s family… and honor our angel, Florence. This time of year was Flo’s favorite and I know she left all of her handwritten recipes for us to carry on her love of family, her love of cooking, her love of entertaining. This will be Christmas Eve to me forever…

I honor my dad by placing his Christmas Angel on the very top of my Christmas tree. She smiles on all of us…

Our angels surround us in spirit, bringing great joy and happiness and peace…

That is such a wonderful idea to make Flo’s favorite recipes!! You all will surely feel her there with you. Hopefully, not by way of any oven fires 🙂 Have a fantastic Christmas, Sharon!!

I will be making a special gift of Nana’s. This is how I will honor her… and just know that she is there smiling at all the kids running around and singing. I honor your father… my Grandfather… by lighting my house from head to toe in XMAS lights. I know he used to love doing that… so I carry that tradition on with my own boys!

We honor our angel doggy Bismarck by putting a special ornament on our tree that represents him. We miss him so much and honor him, his memory,a and his love of life every day.

I also want to take this time to thank Heather for bringing up the Thanksgiving oven fire incident!! Haha! 😉

Sharon that warms my heart. What a wonderful way to honor such a special lady. With her love of entertaining and making meals to celebrate her this way …let’s just say she’s an angel smiling down you all this Christmas.

Be blessed and have a wonderful Christmas.

Sharon, This is a wonderful idea. I just might start my own tradition next year and do the same with my mother-in-law’s recipes. I am sure she will be sprinkling her angel dust on your celebration. This is a perfect way to keep the memory alive and show the grand-kids how special both Flo & your dad were.
Oh, I will try to put a photo of my Celine gloves on soon….thanks for the idea. You are so special to myself and my daughter. We talked about you in such good ways on our way to Celine.

We also use recipes to remember and honor family this time of year. This year, we might also turn to old home videos. There will be a lot of angels surrounding both of our families this season.

That is so sweet, Sharon. Fortunately all my angels are still here with me, but you’ve given me some great ideas for the future!
