What a weekend!

For so many reasons and on so many levels, I had one of the best times of my life this weekend in New York City.

I was in town for the Hot Blogger Calendar photo shoot, which was on Sunday (the Empire State Building picture was taken from the studio where we had the shoot). And on Saturday night we had an informal get-together with some of the bloggers (and their family/friends) who were in town for the shoot.

I cannot put into words just how amazing everything was. It’s a good thing a picture is worth a thousand words, because I have 177 of them that will hopefully come close to capturing how phenomenal the whole experience was.

I am so excited to get started on putting the calendar together. It’s going to be great.

The photographers, Bill Wadman and Meg Wachter outdid themselves. Seeing the initial photos from the shoot, I was literally salivating at their exquisiteness.

And the fantastic make-up, Jillian Villafane, helped give the photos that extra professional touch with her incredible skills.

I have to mention here that I can’t imagine working with anyone better than Sarah Morgan, my partner-in-crime in this whole thing. I love that a lot of the bloggers thought we’d known each other for years, when the truth is, we’ve only known each other for a few months (this calendar is what brought us together in the first place) – and have only met in person twice (including this weekend!). It’s a testament to our compatibility, I’d say!

And I of course have to take a moment to thank my parents for coming to the shoot and helping in every way, as always. I joke around that they always steal the show, but it’s true… between Dad being a Dustin Hoffman lookalike and the two of them just being so wonderful, I’ve gotten used to people telling me how great my parents are – and totally skipping over the part about how great the daughter they produced is. 😉

How fun! I’m glad it all went well. You must be very proud. 🙂 It was a great weekend to be in the city – I’ve been in New York/New Jersey for the past few days and part of me will be a little sad when I head back to Boston tomorrow.

Seriously, how perfect was this weekend?
I can’t believe we pulled it off.
I can’t believe everyone got along so well.
I can’t believe I get to know people this cool, and talented, and funny, and amazing.

And I can’t believe I’ve only known you for a few months, because ALL of that is ALL BECAUSE OF YOU! You’re the coolest, you are.

Sunday night I tried to explain to my mom about the weekend… but in the end I summed it up with a “good times” before unexpectedly drooling on the couch in a spontaneous coma.

Don’t sweat the part about the parents… I get the same thing with my mom… and deep down inside I know that its indirectly a compliment to me since I happen to have that same genetic stuff… its somewhere in here anyway.

    😉

Oh, and as for your dad being a Dustin Hoffman look a like …. TOTALLY! When I met him I was thinking, he looks like someone I know. And now that you said that … that’s who I was thinking of. Not that I know Dustin Hoffman, but you know.
