It happened…

Last night it happened. It came out of nowhere and just shocked me beyond words.

As I was going to bed last night, I went into each of the boys’ rooms to check on them. As soon as I walked into Benjamin’s room, I could tell he needed a diaper change. (If you get my drift…)

So I woke him up. Changed him. And we just started to play with a few toys in his room. We were having a good time; he was laughing and very excited to have me all to himself! I knew it was reaching 11 pm, so I put Benjamin back into his crib. I rubbed his hair, put his blanket next to him and walked to the door. As I was about to leave, I turned to him and saw him looking right at me through the crib bars. I said, “I love you, Benjamin.”

And he said, “I wove you, Mama.”

Talk about your heart stopping.

Our first “I love you.” These are the moments in life you live for.

I bet your heart just melted, how wonderful! I can’t wait for my first “I love you”. For now, I’m head over heels for hugs, kisses and snuggles.

have a great rest of the week!

Oh, that is wonderful and just made my heart melt! I’m still waiting for my first I love you, but every time I say it, I get a kiss, so I’ve no doubt that he knows exactly what I mean.

My son Gage has been saying “Lub you” for awhile now. About 2 nights ago, as I was walking out of his room at bedtime, he also turned his head and said, “Lub you, mama”.

I told him I loved him, too, shut the door, and stood and cried.

I’ve cried more OUTSIDE my son’s bedroom during his 2 years of life than I think I ever have before! The first time he said “Nigh-Nigh” to me, I stood and cried as well.

Motherhood moments tend to hit me at bedtime, when my little guy is his sweetest and most relaxed little self.

Yes, the only thing sweeter than when Honey first said those 3 words to me was when my daughter said them.

This is one for the scrapbook!
