Bathing suit season is almost behind us.
Now we’re about to enter the “holiday zones”… you know, where pies and crisps and cookies start coming out to play!
Working out is something that us moms may not have too much time for, but it’s something that we should (at least) try and fit into our busy week.
Walking. Running. Biking. Swimming. Yoga. Pilates. Dance. Hiking. Anything to keep us moving and active and healthy!
One thing that is important and smart to do before any exercise or activity is to stretch.
Stretch those muscles that are about to get a workout. It’s good for your body, it’s good for you.
Mark Salinas has a wonderful post up today on his blog - Mark Salinas - about stretching and warming up.
So before you get moving… start stretching!

Keep moving, park a bit further at the mall, go for a walk, take the stairs. “Walking. Running. Biking. Swimming. Yoga. Pilates. Dance. Hiking. Anything to keep us moving and active and healthy!” You hit it right on! A nice stretch feels oh-so- good! I am honored to be mentioned, thank you!

Stretching/warming up is key. Agree wholeheartedly with both you and Mark Salinas..also remember, this gets your muscles fired up and activated before you start the actual workout. Makes your workouts that much more efficient–the muscle are already working before the real work starts! Great stuff here!

I truly believe that stretching over the years has prevented injuries. I stretch before and after a workout. Not only is it necessary, but it feels so good. The after workout stretch just feels like icing on the cake. I stretch 5-10 minutes before and about 10-15 minutes afterwards. It may seem like a long time, but, really, it’s not.

It is a bit scary thinking about the cooler weather and holidays full of food coming soon. I love Fall so much and I plan to be in the best shape ever this year by then. I am going to take advantage of the holidays to change recipes around and make some new holiday traditions with healthier foods
It’s a challenge but bring it on! I love to stretch
