Win a Playskool Busy Ball Popper! *Updated with Winner!*

Win a Playskool Busy Ball Popper!

The Busy Ball Popper is one of those toys that should be in every playroom. My 18 month old son couldn’t get enough of it (as you can see!):

The balls pop, drop and roll. It’s a ton of fun! It’s air-powered, so the balls literally come popping out like popcorn. It’s hilarious… and so exciting so see your child having the time of his or her life.

*To enter to win, leave us a comment about your earliest or favorite Playskool memory.

Mine? I loved My Little Pony. I had Butterscotch and I remember taking her everywhere, and spending hours brushing her hair!

*Congrats to ERIN!*

my earliest Playskool memory is playing Hi Ho! Cherry-O and having my Mama tell me the cherries were for putting on the tree, not eating.

  • 2 Donna // Oct 23, 2008 at 12:39 pm

My first memory is of Mr. Potato Head! I loved that. I bought one for my daughter last year, and it was like getting one all over again. For myself!

  • 3 Kristine // Oct 23, 2008 at 1:13 pm

Mine too is Mr. Potato Head. I have to admit I had to google “vintage playskool” to see what toys I might have had as a kid that were Playskool. I do remember Hi Ho Cheery-O too. I just to play that with my great grandmother on Sunday afternoons. Those were great memories!

  • 4 Heather // Oct 23, 2008 at 1:17 pm

I loved playing with Tinker Toys. I got some for my kids now and they love them just as much.

  • 5 Shelli // Oct 23, 2008 at 1:28 pm

OMG! I love Playskool, all of it but my BEST memory is my son and his tryke bike, he had the old style 1996 version. He rode that sucker till the wheels fell off. It endured 2 solid years of hopping, jumping and 360’s with a toddler at the handlebars. Any wild driving a 16 yo boy with a first car could do, he did with that bike. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.

  • 6 stacey // Oct 23, 2008 at 1:38 pm

I don’t want to steal your memory but I loved My Little Pony also. :)

I do remember that for my 5th birthday my aunt got me a pink rabbit Keyper and I was SO excited. Don’t think they make those anymore but they sure were fun. Thanks for the entry!

I remember playing with Playskool Play-doh at the kitchen table with my sister and brothers and it was always a big, exciting event. My mom was a clean freak so when she let us get Play-doh out it was big time fun!

  • 8 kira // Oct 23, 2008 at 1:55 pm

    I LOVED my glow worm!!!

  • 9 Katie Stacey // Oct 23, 2008 at 2:25 pm

I love Hi-Ho Cherry-O. We used to play it all the time growing up along with Candy Land. I can’t wait until my little one is old enough to play these games with me!

  • 10 Stacy // Oct 23, 2008 at 7:38 pm

I cant really remember but love all the toy for my son. Sometimes I think I am having more fun then him.

my mind immediately thought of the little wooden cobbler’s bench! I took someone’s suggestion though and went to google and found Dressy Bessy, I LOVED that doll. And Lincoln Logs. My grandmother had Lincoln Logs at her house and always looked forward to playing with them…but my brother use to hog all the roof pieces and I could never finish my houses…..

  • 14 Jen // Oct 24, 2008 at 8:52 am

It’s funny you mention my little pony, not only are my fondest memories of playing with my ponies in my pony castle! I still have all the original ponies and castle and accessories, I take them out and let my friends girls play with them once in a while when they visit, it’s so nostalgic seeing them enjoying them as I did.

  • 15 Omayra // Oct 24, 2008 at 8:58 am

My earliest playskool memory was Mr. Potatoe head, I remember after we lost all the pieces to it, my sister and I would pretend that it was a baked chicken! :)

  • 16 April // Oct 24, 2008 at 9:06 am

I vividly remember my Mr. Potato Head. I’m so glad that Playskool still makes them - especially in the collectors editions like the Darth Vader one!

  • 17 nancy // Oct 24, 2008 at 9:23 am

My earliest memory was Mr. Potato Head

  • 18 Betty R.~ simply southern // Oct 24, 2008 at 9:28 am

Some of my favorite memories would be the Glo Worms.I thought they were just the cutest things when i started buying them for my kids. Now my grands enjoy them.It is some of the sweet flashbacks to see the same toys in their hands i placed in their mom and dad’s hands 20+ years ago.. ;)

enter me please,my grandson’s would enjoy this!

  • 19 Veronica Szymankiewicz // Oct 24, 2008 at 10:03 am

My earliest memories of Playskool toys would have to be of Mr. Potato Head and the Gloworms. I remember sitting on the floor playing with Mr. Potato Head, changing up the pieces, and I also remember the unique and very strong plastic smell that the toy had. At night, I would sleep with my glo worm, and all was right with the world. Thank you.

  • 20 Ginny // Oct 24, 2008 at 10:55 am

Mine is my little pony as well. I had Blossom and just loved playing with them! I still have almost all of mine, my daughter is mad because I won’t let her play with them, lol. That may sound mean, but she has a huge rubbermaid container of her own!

  • 21 Deanne // Oct 24, 2008 at 10:56 am

M y favorite memory is with the The Step Start Walk and Ride. My son (10 months old at the time), took hold of the handle and walked for the first time! He walked clear across the room, squealing and laughing the whole time. He couldn’t get enough of “walking” and played with it all the time . It was just so cool to see my little baby grab hold and turn into a little boy WALKING across the room (tears&smiles)!

  • 22 Maquel // Oct 24, 2008 at 11:15 am

I remember my first grade teacher taking away the “My Little Pony” I had snuck into class with me.

  • 23 Carly // Oct 24, 2008 at 11:42 am

I loved my gloworm; even when she sisnt glow anymore. I took her everywhere with me!

  • 27 pamr // Oct 24, 2008 at 5:50 pm

I had a my little pony too, with a castle; I wish I had kept it for my daughter! Thanks for the contest!

  • 28 Erin // Oct 24, 2008 at 6:24 pm

I loved My Little Pony, too, and my earliest memory was finding out that My Little Pony and the bathtub didn’t mix when one of my ponies started to smell a little off due to bathwater that had gotten trapped!

  • 29 Miche // Oct 24, 2008 at 6:40 pm

I loved My Little Pony-every quarter I earned doing chores went to buying another one. I saved enough to the the nursery and castle and a ton of ponies. I loved my wedding day pony that I got from saving up codes from other ponies I had bought. And yes, I still have them all and really hope one day to pass them on to a daughter or granddaughter, as I am pretty sure my ponies would become cannon fodder to my boy….lol!

  • 30 SEmbree // Oct 24, 2008 at 9:08 pm

My favorite Playskool toy is Mr. Potato Head. We loved to play and use our imaginations and we came up with some wild Mr. Potato Head. Some of my doll hats fit him. What a neat toy!
Thank you for offering another great Playskool toy.

  • 31 Barbara Cafarelli // Oct 24, 2008 at 11:57 pm

I remember having Mr. Potato Head that you had to use a real potato and stick the parts into it. We had a ball with that. Then we had the Tinkertoys and what magical things we could create with those . As for this giveaway my little guy just loves things he can put things into .. This is the perfect age toy for him. He will love it.. Thanks for the chance to win. If not we might just have to buy one for him for Christmas.

  • 32 Andrea // Oct 25, 2008 at 12:54 am

  • 35 KATHY D // Oct 25, 2008 at 8:35 am

But my sister always wanted a Glo Worm and my mom says she was to old,,, So my sister did get one but not till she had her fisrt child she bought it for her daughters second Christmas…. isn’t that the best part of kids playing with toys again as an adult

  • 43 TheAngelForever // Oct 25, 2008 at 10:49 am

I remember spending hours with my Mr. Potato Head. Of course that was back in the dark ages when they were simple and not so many options. I laugh when my son has the entire potato family.

  • 44 Deanna // Oct 25, 2008 at 11:26 am

I was always trying to play with my older brothers cause they were so cool :) I would play GI Joes with them all the time. We would army crawl with shirts on our heads. I never was very good at the sound effects though so one of my brothers would make them for me. I think I was about 3.

Mr. Potatohead…OMG, I played and played with that thing. For some reason I remember my Mr. Potatohead dressed up like a Fireman. Then I’d put those yellow rectangle glasses on him. (There is a picture of me where I’m wearing them!) and he’s be smoking his pipe. Back in the days…eh!

  • 56 Jennifer august // Oct 25, 2008 at 4:09 pm

Man, playdoh was the only thing we could have because it was the only “consumable” item that did not need to get stored or taken care of. :)
Now that I have two little ones, I understand why. I have no room- and if it gets lost.broken.used.etc- it cost 2$ to replace!
    :)

  • 57 Michelle // Oct 25, 2008 at 4:10 pm

Hi Ho Cherry-o all the way. I wanted to play that game all the time. As a parent now I can only imagine how wearing that must have been on my parents. Oh many times can you play one game over and over… :)

I think my daughters both loved the sit and spin, was I was also thinking abouth that annoying little push toy that has colorful balls that pop, that they would play with non stop, not sure if playskool though

  • 122 tracey // Oct 28, 2008 at 12:42 am

Yea, I remember Mr. Potato Head.I wish I could have played with all the cool stuff my kids loved! One of my sons had a serious fascination with his sit and spin too, made me dizzy to watch him!

  • 123 Karen Rennirt // Oct 28, 2008 at 12:47 am

My first that I can remember was also Mr. Potato Head. Me and my sister used to fight over him.

That’s asking me to remember back a loooong way. There weren’t really a lot of toys around our house…but I do recall playing with Lincoln Logs. My children, however, had lots of Playskool toys, for example, the huge collection of My Little Ponies that belonged to my youngest daughter.

  • 129 Stasie Tillman // Oct 28, 2008 at 3:23 pm

I definitely loved playing with all the colors that would mold into one big mound of brown play doh…or otherwise ended up in my mouth…I don’t know why it was soo salty and appealing in kindergarten…haha!

  • 130 Jennifer Jozwiak // Oct 28, 2008 at 4:35 pm

I loved playing with the the thing you could push around and had the little dome with the different colored balls inside. It was so fun to hear them pop when you were pushing it.

  • 131 Sherry R // Oct 28, 2008 at 4:52 pm

I used to love the FP little people - I had the house, the town, the parking garage and the Merry-Go-Round, but I always wanted the castle!

  • 132 Tiffanie W. // Oct 28, 2008 at 6:15 pm

My sisters and I were only born a few years apart, so we always played together. One year for christmas my parents got us a kitchen set with dishes and fake food, and a cash register with plastic money. We would play house and store.

  • 133 Roxanne W // Oct 28, 2008 at 7:06 pm

We had a little bench with pegs you could pound in. Hours of fun at that little bench.

  • 134 Jessi Iler // Oct 28, 2008 at 7:25 pm

I remember playing with Tinker Toys all the time when I was little- I loved making all kinds of structures with them and what even better is my sister wasn’t into them so I didn’t have to share!

  • 135 Casey Patton // Oct 28, 2008 at 7:56 pm

I love Play-Doh….but I always got in trouble for eating it.

My first memory of Playskool Play-doh is actually really gross. I was about four, and I had to go to the potty. When it came out, it was blue from where I had eaten so much play-doh. I freaked out, and thought I was dying, and ran and told my grandmother to call 911. She laughed at me, and walked away saying ‘I told you to stop eating that stuff!’

I love Lincoln Logs more than anything when I was a child. I would build houses for my dolls and forts for my brothers cowboys & indians! I wish they were still as popular because they hurt way less than Legos when you step on them!

  • 158 Tonia Rowe // Oct 29, 2008 at 12:23 pm

My fuzzy pumper playdoh haircutting salon! It was terrific!

  • 159 Robin H // Oct 29, 2008 at 1:23 pm

Weren’t all toys back in the 80’s Playskool?
At least that’s the way I remember it i’ve had the my little pony, the popcorn popper push toy (drove my parents nuts with it), Mr. Potato Head, Playdough etc…..
My earliest one would have to be Mr. Potato Head though, it was my sisters toy and I was always running off with it because it was so much fun changing around his face.

  • 160 kathy // Oct 29, 2008 at 2:11 pm

I came across this website looking for the Playskool chalkboard/desk from 1979 or so (See comment 47 above). I want to buy this for my grandchild because it was a great toy ( I became a kindergarten teacher after I was a mom of 3, and this was a wonderful educational toy). I like the lid lifting up to keep the magnetic letters inside (because kids love to put things in and out of places). I like the chalkboard for writing skills. Best of all — no electronic music, flashing screens, or videos to distract the child from what is important — playing and using her/his imagination. Where can I find this desk?
