September is National Fall Hat Month.  (I’m not kidding.)
I just found this little fun-fashion-tidbit out the other night as I was browsing for some great Fall hats.  I have to say, at first… I thought it was a joke.  Then as I kept googling it — it became apparent, that September really does hold the [...]

Parent’s Choice — You’ve saved me $359.92

August 10th, 2009 · 9 Comments · Uncategorized, life

There have been so many blogs lately about breastfeeding. Even at my local pool club, it seems every mother with an infant breastfeeds. I have to admit, I’m envious. With 4 sons, I have never been able to breastfeed. I tried with William, he didn’t take. I tried with Alexander, he [...]

There are moments…

August 8th, 2009 · 15 Comments · life, motherhood

There are moments in life where you know, this is a “moment.” This is something I will remember forever. And you then try as best as you can to tuck that “moment” into the depths of your heart and soul, so you won’t ever forget that exact moment.
I had one of [...]

Fashion DO for the summer – SUN HATS

July 3rd, 2009 · 2 Comments · 365 Days of Mom Fashion Advice, 365 of Fashion Advice for Moms, Fashion Advice for Moms, Mom Generations, life, motherhood

I will never forget being with my father-in-law at the beach and having him point to a woman in a sun hat and saying, “I love a good hat.”
I smile when I write this because I have always loved a good hat. And I agreed with him, 100%. There’s something about a beautiful [...]

Family activities together

May 19th, 2009 · 5 Comments · 365 Days of Mom Fashion Advice, Uncategorized, advice, life

In this day and age, it’s difficult to pry kids away from the computer, the television, their hand-held games or their gaming systems. It’s just a simple truth. Technology is the only “age” they have known to grow up in. It’s something that I have to be aware of, especially being the [...]

Our Hanes Comfort Crew had an incredible day yesterday!
We started off the day at Disney’s Design-A-Tee Store in Downtown Disney presented by Hanes. It was the COOLEST shop for the boys (and for mom and dad, too!). We each got to design our very own t-shirt. We got to pick what Hanes [...]

Happy 8th Birthday (a day late) to my niece, Taylor!

January 15th, 2009 · 6 Comments · 365 Days of Mom Fashion Advice, life, motherhood

My niece turned 8 years old yesterday. 8 years old.
I remember January 14th, 2001 like it was yesterday. I was living in New York City at that time, and my mother called me to tell me that Nicole (my sister-in-law) was in labor. I called (my-then-fiance) Matt and told him that I [...]

He’s in love with a girl…

November 3rd, 2008 · 18 Comments · life

William’s in love. Well, as in love as any 4 year old can be. He’s not waiting by the phone for it to ring (do boys eventually ever do this?). He’s not afraid to ask this girl out and have her say “no.” He’s not dressing for her in the morning. [...]

Joe the plumber and then some…

October 16th, 2008 · 5 Comments · children, life

In the past week, three of my NYC friends have lost their jobs. One is an investment banker. One’s in fashion. And another is a waitress.
It’s scary.
Are they married with families?
The investment banker is. The fashion friend is. The waitress isn’t.
It’s scary for all of them. The kind of [...]

He’s had enough, folks!

October 1st, 2008 · 11 Comments · birthday, life

September 28th, 2008.
Alexander’s 3rd birthday.
The “Happy Birthday” phone calls all started rolling in around 7pm. Aunties. Uncles. Cousins. Grandparents. And friends.
By 9pm, Alexander had had enough of the “Happy Birthday” singing on the other end of the phone.
Case in point – Phone call from Pap Pap in Pittsburgh:

HAPPY OCTOBER!

September 29th, 2008 · 7 Comments · life, motherhood

With William and Alexander’s birthdays being this past week, I scoured through tons and tons of photos of them throughout the past 4 years. These are my precious memories captured in time. The moments I won’t forget. The faces that have changed and grown. It was amazing going through the photos…
Or, [...]

Happy Birthday, my sweet William!

September 25th, 2008 · 21 Comments · 4 boys, children, life, motherhood

4 years ago today my William was born.
It was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in New York City.
William’s delivery was not an easy one… I pushed and pushed and pushed (and pushed some more) for hours. I just kept looking into my husband’s eyes, with tears down my cheeks and thinking, “I just want to [...]

Lost in NYC – Part 2

September 24th, 2008 · 6 Comments · 4 boys, activities, life, motherhood

Oh, the joys.
I blogged on Monday about getting to NYC on Saturday for our friend’s wedding. I was lost. I was found. But all the while, I can say with 100% certainty that I knew my boys were safe and sound at home with my parents.
I was wrong.
I was told the “real” [...]

Some days…

September 17th, 2008 · 6 Comments · 4 boys, Uncategorized, children, friends, life

I was asked by one of my close girlfriend’s the other day if I ever get tired…
This was yesterday, while Matthew was away overnight on business:
6 am: Foot in face. (William hopped into my bed at 3 am and horse-kicked my nose on way into bed)
8:30 am: About to leave to drop [...]

Take some time today to remember

September 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments · friends, life

9/11. My goodness, it changed life forever.
Matt and I had just moved out of NYC three months before 9/11 happened. We decided that the suburban life was what we wanted to experience, we had done NYC for 2 years… and we thought we were able to say, “Been there, done that.”
Then 9/11. [...]

A gift from heaven.

August 28th, 2008 · 27 Comments · 4 boys, Gifts, life

I got the best gift of my life today.
I got a gift from my Nana.
Yesterday my parents, brothers and husband went to my Nana’s apartment to finish clearing everything out. It’s one of those “tasks” that nobody wanted to do because everyone knew how difficult it would be… but it needed to be done.
As [...]

My son – the business man

August 18th, 2008 · 10 Comments · life

Yesterday afternoon there were 3 little boys selling lemonade at the end of our street.
As we drove by, I decided to buy the boys some lemonade.  After all, it was selling for 25 cents.
My total bill came to $1.  I felt so bad for the boys because they were out in the heat selling their [...]

Hi everyone…

I have been asking her to send me some signs lately… letting me know that she is [...]
