I love the Suave “Motherhood” commercials.
You know the ones I’m talking about. The “mother” is standing there and we see the phases of her life pass by… and it isn’t until she uses Suave products that she finally looks put together, relaxed and (ahh…) “pretty” again.
Oh, I can relate. All too well.
With having 4 boys, all 4 and under… I know the beauty of a shower. OK, the luxury of a shower. OK, OK, the oh-my-God-this-is-better-than-a-million-dollar-shopping-spree type of shower.
I’m there.
But then you throw in the enticement of trying out some Suave products? (So basically, honey, I HAVE to shower. Suave is making me. I will see you in an hour. Have fun with the boys!)
Truth be told, I have always loved Suave products. I remember Suave as the products of choice that my mother would buy when Jane and I were young (both Jane and I swam competitively, so with double swim practices each day, we used a lot of shampoo!). And you know the expression, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well, Suave has always worked beautifully on my hair, so I never changed product lines. When you have hair as thick as mine, finding the “perfect” conditioner can be like finding a needle in a haystack. When you find it, you keep it.
Am I right, ladies, or what?
I love my hair smooth and straight and perfect. After all, I basically wear it up, mommy-style, 80% of the time. All right, maybe 90% of the time. So when I have the chance to wear it down, I want it to look good. Salon good. Date night good. That “woman is a mom of 4?” good.
Really, is that too much to ask?
Suave doesn’t think so.
But let’s forget about my hair for a minute. And talk sweat. Come on moms, we sweat. (Please don’t tell me it’s only me!) I spend the greater part of my day picking things up, bringing the boys here and there, cooking, chasing around the backyard or playground and searching the house (high and low) for missing blankies and super heroes. I sweat. And there’s nothing I can do about it.
Except to try and smell good. Thanks to Suave’s Naturals Tropical Paradise Invisible Solid, I actually do. It goes on clear. Provides excellent wetness protection. And smells AMAZING. I’m not kidding when I say this… my husband actually asked me what new cream I was using. Talk about some brownie points for Suave!
Suave delivers. It just does. So imagine my delight when I received a product to try on my boys’ hair.
Suave Kids 2 in 1 Shampoo Swim & Sport.
We’re a family on the go. We don’t stop. It’s the way we love it. There’s preschool. Baseball. Art. Karate.
And during the summer, it’s swimming. We belong to a pool club and the boys are out in the sun and in the pool every-single-day. So when Suave sent Swim & Sport, I was excited to try it.
It actually says on the bottle that Swim & Sport removes chlorine. Um… hello. It may as well read, “Heaven in a bottle.” As much as I love the smell of chlorine (from my 16 swimming years), I know that my boys don’t. Suave’s Swim & Sport makes the chlorine smell magically disappear. It’s actually a joke in our house that “the chlorine has left the building!” We have the flippin’ Citrus squirt, so my little men go to bed smelling fresh, citrus-y and delicious… not chlorine-y.
And let me not forget to mention that Swim & Sport is “tear free.” Two words my 3 1/2 year old loves to hear.
We’re a Suave family. There’s something for everyone. I love Suave. My kids love it. And my husband been using Suave’s 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner for years. So there you have it.
Now throw in the generation piece… my mother and sister are part of our Suave family, too.
“Motherhood isn’t always pretty.” I’ll buy that. Just take a peek at me at 5:30 am when my littlest one begins to stir.
But by 8:30 am, when all the boys are up (even the one we call daddy) and I’m heading in a million directions, I already feel “pretty.”

I didn’t realize how many Suave products I use until these posts started showing up today. I use the exact same deodorant and I picked it just because of the smell. I love smelling so tropical this summer!

LOL! I just got done commenting on your mom’s blog that if Suave hasn’t hired her for marketing their products, they should. But they’d need to hire you, as well. What a team the two of you would make! We love Suave products, too! And I hear ya on the shower thing. Personally, I would love to take a shower in which NO male member of my family sneaks in to go #2. EEKS!

I actually love Suave too. Hubby uses their 2 in 1 as well. And you’re right, it always leaves my hair smelling downright YUMMY.
I’ll have to try the chlorine removing stuff…sounds awesome.

We actually use the Swim & Sport shampoo for the girls on a regular basis - we have hard water and it really does a good job at getting their hair actually clean and soft instead of all ‘gunked up’ like it used to be before we discovered Suave kids’ shampoos!

So glad to hear about the Swim & Sport. The chlorine is really doing a number on our hair this summer. We’ll have to go get some and try it out. And with 3 daughters (ok, and me and my massive mane) we go through lots of shampoo and conditioner. What would make it even better? If it came by the gallon:)
