It really is just beyond terrific! Everyone is so passionate and determined and dedicated to their sport, I love seeing the energy and enthusiasm!

I have the incredible opportunity through P&G Thank you, Mom to interview some of my favorite Olympians during the Games!! As you know from my blog – I’m a HUGE SUPPORTER of Thank you Mom!! Check out this amazing video (grab a Puff!)…

I am GIDDY with excitement about this because these Olympians are superheroes to me! They have captured my heart and I love being able to share with you my interviews! I will be sharing them with you all as I get them, enjoy away!!

First up!!??

NICK GOEPPER!!! My sons are gigantic Nick fans!!!

Nick Goepper is an American freeskier from Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He has won three gold medals and a silver at the Winter X Games in the Slopestyle contest, as well as a bronze medal at the last Olympic games.

Q: Congrats on the Olympics! What does it feel like to be back competing at the Olympics?

A: It feels really, really cool. During our Team USA training today, the training ambassador asked the group whether there were any veterans and I realized, I guess that’s me! It was a really cool moment to be recognized as a veteran and realize that I’m back here competing for a second time.

Q: What goes into training for the Olympics specifically?

A: A lot of skiing, a lot of hours, tons of runs and jumps – but also a lot of fun. I wouldn’t do this if it wasn’t fun. That’s the first and most important part of this whole experience and really any job or career. You have to love what you’re doing otherwise it’s just not worth it.

Q: How excited is your family for you? Are they here cheering you on?

A: They’re so excited for me. The whole family is actually all on their way here right now and will definitely be cheering me on during my competition!

Q: What does it feel like to be part of the Thank You, Mom campaign? How has your mom impacted your success?

A: My mom has been the most amazing and influential person in my life.  If it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t even be here right now. Even when the market crashed in 2008 and my dad became unemployed, my mom always made it her priority to keep all of her kids doing the things they loved even though they were living off savings. They sacrificed the things they wanted to do to ensure all of us were able to live normal kid lives. And that’s why I’m so proud to be part of Procter & Gamble’s Thank You, Mom, #LoveOverBias campaign. It shows that no matter where you come from or what others may think of you, moms will always see and support your true potential – and that’s exactly what mine did.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about the Olympics?

A: Skiing the course, and seeing my family enjoy their experience here. I feel like I played a role in getting my family to come out here and experience something really cool, which makes me happy.

How did you like my Interview with American Freeskier Nick Goepper?
