Victoria and I were invited to our very first mom/daughter playdate. Honestly – I felt like it was a first date. This was the VERY FIRST time any other mom had invited us both over for a playdate. It was exciting and also a little stressful for me. All of my mom friends are from my sons. I was “younger” back then. I had a lot more free time to set up playdates and do more things. Over the last 5 years I’ve grown my business and really honed in on the friendships that I already have. When I had Victoria and she started going to school, it was like starting over a little bit again. I didn’t want to be “that” mom that didn’t show up for things or participate in activities with her. So… as soon as we got the invite, we jumped at the chance to meet some more moms and daughters out there that live in our area.

My first question? WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR? My husband laughed at me and said, “Clothes. Clothes would be good. Don’t show up naked, that would be awkward.”

Ha. Ha. Funny. But honestly – I love fashion (as you know), so I wanted to show up fashionable, but also not over-doing it and uncomfortable. I opted for totally casually chic.

I’m an Adidas loving girl and have been rocking my Superstars left and right lately, so these were an easy go-to for me. My Adidas Superstar Shoes Womens – are easy to find just about anywhere right now, too! Since the weather wasn’t so bad this past weekend, I didn’t have to worry about puffer jackets and hats and scarves and mittens, so I went with my cropped leather jacket from Anthropologie that I am OBSESSED with!

I’m a distressed jeans girl, so I went with what I love. I grabbed my Old Navy rockstar black jeans and paired with a (surprise, surprise!) Adidas top!

Victoria was easy, I went with pink colors – her favorite! And she picked out the pom pom sneakers! Since it was a hot day, she wanted to bring along sunglasses “like Mommy!” It was a cute idea (she never wore them), so I kept them in my handbag throughout the playdate.

Believe me, I know I totally over-thought this whole playdate. LOL, I just wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and really looked myself. I had an amazing time with the moms and their daughters and was really happy to meet some new people in our area. Victoria LOVES hanging out with other girls, so it really was a win-win for both of us! We’re a little team – me and my girl – so it was cute being able to do something together. We always say, “the girls are here!” when we walk into the house together, so it was so much fun to really be with GIRLS!!!!
