Good Night, Baby Animals, You’ve Had a Busy Day by Karen B. Winnick

When I was a little girl my mom would read to me and my sister every single night before bed. It was our nighttime ritual and it was something that I looked forward to every night before bed. It calmed me. It soothed me. And it was just something very special for us to do together.

Now being a mom of 5, I know first-hand, just how important it is to read with your children. My sons are on the “older” side now… 8, 9, 11 and 12… so they have books that they love and dive into every night on their own. It’s a wonderful sight for a mom to see and embrace. It makes you feel like you’ve done something right in their lives, giving them the gift of reading. My daughter – who is 3 years old – is now my little reading buddy. She LOVES books. She loves to sit with ANYONE who will read her a story. She has her own little book shelf in her room and in the living room and (literally) will ask for a book to be read to her all day long. So… I’m always on the hunt for new books for her because I know she will love them to the core.

Good Night, Baby Animals, You’ve Had a Busy Day by Karen B. Winnick (author and illustrator!) is a new book that I’ve just added to Victoria’s collection and it’s already a BIG HIT! Victoria is OBSESSED with animals, so as soon as I saw the cover of the book, I knew Victoria was going to love it. We’ve had this book now at home for about a week and I have turned this book into our bedtime reading book. It’s the PERFECT BOOK for a child to have before bedtime.

So what is Good Night, Baby Animals, You’ve Had a Busy Day about?

Good Night, Baby Animals, You’ve Had a Busy Day is a a treasury of six original stories that follows the true-to-life antics and adventures of young animals in the wild as they, eat, play, tumble, romp, and explore their natural habitats and meet other animals who share their surroundings. Children will learn fun and accurate facts about the animals featured: tigers, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, pandas, and gorillas.

Filled with action-packed pages, sound effects, and patterned text, this 64-page, beautifully illustrated story book is the perfect bedtime story for toddlers.

It’s wonderful because – what I personally love – is that each story of the animal ends with them going to sleep. It’s such a perfect way for a toddler and child to “walk” through the busy day of an animal and then see them heading to bed. Each story is different and unique and it’s so much fun to see their eyes come alive with each new page!

Victoria especially loves Pandas, so this was a BIG deal for her to see!

This book is truly charming and delightful and full of love. It’s a great book for your child to not only be entertained by, but to learn from, too. For me, this is a win-win! I must admit, too – my sons have all joined into the reading fun with Victoria at night! This book truly is a special one and will be enjoyed by all ages!
