Disney Castaway Cay – I just want to stay here forever and not go home! Is that allowed??
I’m a beach girl.
I love the sun.
I love the sand.
I love the water.
I love making sandcastles.
I love splashing around with my kids.
I love walking around barefoot without a care in the world.
I was able to experience all of this (and then some) at this gorgeous paradise!
Disney Castaway Cay
The second we announced that we were heading out on a Disney Cruise, every single person who has ever been on a Disney Cruise said to me, “Wait till you get to Castaway Cay!”
Yes, it’s that kind of place.
I’ll be honest – because SO MANY PEOPLE had raved about it – it had some really big shoes to fill! I was BEYOND impressed and just fell in love with it!
So what exactly is Disney Castaway Cay?
Castaway Cay is a private island in the Bahamas which serves as an exclusive port for the Disney Cruise Line ships. It is located near Great Abaco Island and was formerly known as Gorda Cay.
I fell in love with this gorgeous island away from it all because Disney made it the kind of destination that whether you’re a baby, a toddler, a tween, a teen or an adult… there’s something for you to do. The water is calm and peaceful (also glistening and clear!). The sand is smooth and easy to mold. The snorkeling was magnificent for my husband and sons. The chairs were comfortable to lounge in. When you’re hungry or thirsty (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), there’s something for you. There’s tubes to relax on. There’s life jackets for little ones, so you’re relaxed with your child. There’s water slides and tons of fun to play on and with! It’s just a perfect, PERFECT family destination. And! They offer a 5K run, too!

As you could tell, we lived it up there! Victoria falling asleep on her Crocs made us laugh, that’s the sign of a really great day! I mean – if this isn’t proof that it was a great day I don’t know what else to say!
