The gift of growing up with a big bunch of cousins…
I have 12 beautiful grandkids, a Blessing I count as magnificent every single day. They range in age from 15 years to 3 months — 4 girls and 8 boys.
These 12 grandkids each have 11 cousins on the Couto side of the family.
This brings me to grandchild #11 and youngest of the 8 BOYS, 2-year old Brian…
Brian always has his eyes, ears and heart open to his 7 big boy cousins Andrew (13), Jake (12), William (11), Alex (10), Ben (9), Henry (8), Dylan (8). He wants to do what they do. He loves their action-packed, fabulously fun moments…
… like squishing into a kiddo pool after some basketball, volleyball, you-name-it, on a hot summer day at Grandma & Pop-up’s house!
The fabulous thing about having a bunch of older cousins is the watching, the laughing, the adoration showered on the littlest ones and ah… the imitation factor.
Brian has internalized something wonderful from each of his older cousins, most recently his solo lacrosse pick-up game with himself and his plastic LAX sticks and ball, a gift from our neighbor…
He has internalized something — something magical, something family, something perfect about his gaggle of older cousins and the love of it all, even when by himself!
