We practically live outside during the summer months. Living in Rhode Island, the “Ocean State,” it’s VERY easy to find yourself enjoying the local beaches and pools on a daily basis. From 8AM in the morning, till 8PM in the evening my kids are in bathing suits, enjoying every single ounce of summer fun!

I’ve loved this summer in particular because my sons are old enough now (8, 9, 10 and 11!) to truly embrace the beauty of summer! They have friends that they hang out with daily at our pool club. They’re busy little bees and I love it! They’re in the water, playing volleyball, tossing a baseball, playing basketball, enjoying kickball, playing tag, having our on the playground… all the summer fun activities that me and my siblings played when we were kids, too! It’s funny I’ve just sort of become that “home base” for money for the snack bar when they’re hungry!

My Victoria is a little different. She just turned 3 years old this summer, so we’re still the best of friends and sidekicks with each other throughout the summer. You never see Victoria without me close behind. It’s been interesting this summer because Victoria has made little friends on her own at our pool club. She loves splashing in the kiddie pool water with them and playing “tea parties” on the pool deck. It’s adorable watching her embrace the fun of summer in her own “baby” way.

Here’s the thing with the summer months in our family… my kids get very dry skin. It’s something that happens every summer because of the hot, dry summer air. Throughout their lives I’ve had to moisturize them from head to toe because it’s the only way to keep their skin smooth and dry.
