GirlUP with Niagara Water #GirlUPSweeps

I’m all about GIRL POWER.

When I was a little girl, my mother and father gave me and my little sister the gift of believing in us. Regardless of what we wanted to do or try, they gave us the motivation and determination to go after our goals and our dreams. They allowed us to believe that anything was possible for us and I loved that about them.

I was a swimmer growing up and many times I needed to compete against the boys. I never shied away from competing against them because I wanted to show them what I was made of – win or lose, I was putting it all in the pool and giving my all. Standing 5 feet tall, 110 pounds on a swimming block wasn’t always easy, especially since many of the guys were 5’10” and taller, but I never waved the white flag. I never gave up. I never allowed the boys to think that I was nervous. I got up there as if I was just as tall as them, ready to swim a personal best.

Now being a mother of my own little girl, I feel even more committed to making sure my daughter always knows and believes that she can do anything. The best thing is that my daughter is being raised with 4 older brothers. My daughter hangs with her brothers perfectly.

She’s the little girl at the baseball games with a baseball glove on one hand, a baseball in the other, rocking a tutu. She may be small, but she’s strong and determined and fierce.

I pray that this piece of her never goes away because it’s something that will bring her very far in life. She exudes GIRL POWER and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

I am OBSESSED with what Niagara Water is doing right now to inspire and motivate GIRL POWER. They believe that girls are just as tough, fast, confident, athletic, and good as the boys. They set out to show true GIRL POWER to a bunch of boys and girls at a soccer game and it was pretty incredible to see what happened! Take a look (and get ready for the goosebumps!)…

Pretty powerful, right? I love the message that Niagara is sharing – a goal’s a goal, no matter who makes it. I love this. I love the power of GIRL POWER. I love seeing a company share a spotlight on the importance of GIRL POWER and the importance of making sure all girls know that they can do anything they want to do!
