A Birthday Back in Time

I’ve never dreaded my birthday. I’m only 38, so (ahem) I might think differently “someday”… I’m just not there yet! I woke up yesterday morning thinking that May 23rd would just be a regular kinda day. Yes, it was my birthday, but at 38 – it’s a heck of a lot different than turning 12!

But here’s the cool part, I was quickly reminded of the true awesomeness of my family and friends.  I started getting calls/texts/emails and Facebook messages wishing me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY around 6am! It was amazing, it made a girl feel good!

My husband had to work all day yesterday and my sons were at school, so I was planning on just treating myself to lunch with my daughter. I had already planned to go to Newport Creamery and splurge on some of my childhood fave foods with my best girl!
Then my dad called.

“Hey Kid! Do you have lunch plans?”

Dad to the rescue! ❤️

Honestly – I was ecstatic, deep down I just didn’t want to spend the day without celebrating with people that I love.

The my dad did the ultimate “dad thing!” He invited my 2 brothers and sister… and (of course) my mom was able to switch a doctor’s appointment with my Grandma, too.

The original Couto gang all got together for my birthday – plus Victoria!

You know what?

Being with my siblings as an adult brings me more joy than anything!  We laugh. We jab. We joke. We share. It’s awesome.
