Day 19 ~ 31 Haiku in Search of a Voice ~
Boundary and path,
Wrought iron and shadow by
Artisans of fence.
The New England seaport town where I live, settled in 1680, is rich in history. This town has seen its days of shipbuilding and trade, of fishermen and tradesmen and millionaires, of ethnicity and cultures mixing to make it a wonderful place to live. Bristol is committed to historic preservation, maintaining beautiful and often ornate residences of the past. The main street is lined with some of these historic gems. I often walk or run along this street, intrigued and amazed at the craftsmanship of old, and always mesmerized by the shadows of some of the lovely fences… as if the fences are extra happy to gift us with TWO of them on a sunny morning, one to admire and one as a fanciful path. Yesterday, I saw a Haiku in Search of a Voice here!
