Today my Alexander turns 10 years old.

It’s his special DOUBLE DIGITS BIRTHDAY.

I’ve been excited about this birthday in particular because Alex is truly, truly, truly the HAPPIEST kid. He’s the kind of kid that gets excited for everyone else and the important things in their life, so I was super excited to feel the same about him on HIS special day.

Alex came into this world smiling, filled with happiness and with a tremendous amount of love to give… nothing has changed in 10 years!! Many, many, many people have asked us throughout the years if we planned on having 2 babies 12 months apart. Right after we had our William, our dear friend Dimitri Gavriel passed away… it was a very difficult time for us, especially Matt. It was during that time in Nov of 2004 that we decided that we wanted to celebrate life and try for another baby. In January we found out that we were expecting again… and we both just “knew” this little baby was going to be a boy. Our Alexander Dimitri has lit up our lives for the last 10 years. He is the funniest, happiest, most loving, wittiest and most caring boy ever. I always tell Matt… Alex is just a ball of joy. That’s who he is… he marches to the beat of his own drum and just is happy. It’s kind of the best way to be, right?
