My beauty-loving intern Brittany Stenovitch put together this Monday Beauty post! 5 Items EVERY Woman Should Have in her Makeup Bag! I’m telling you, I’m taking notes.

1. Pop of Color- Red Lipstick. My mom always told me if you having a bad day to put on red lipstick. It’s a great way to add color to any outfit, dress your outfit up or even add that bit of “holiday” to your outfit.

2. Neutral Blush to add color to cheeks, in the winter you don’t want to have heavy amounts of makeup on so a nice way to add some color and dimension to your face is a light neutral blush with a small amount of pink. The blush Orgasm from NARS works well on all skin types.

3. Highlighter– Contouring is very big trend in makeup right now. Contouring adds shadows to recessed areas we want to push back or minimize where highlighting pops out the areas we want to accentuate and bring forward.

4. Mascara – the perfect way to make your eyes look wide and awake. An absolute must have to apply before leaving the house. If you are not a big makeup person or not that confident with doing your own eye makeup, this is the easy and most minimal eye makeup you need. Definicils mascara by Lancomé is a lightweight mascara that gives you long, defined, lavish lashes.

5. Natural Lip gloss– A natural colored lipgloss is a product you can find in any beauty store. A favorite of mine is from MAC Cosmetics. MACs lip glosses tend to wear better than others I have worn in the past. Not only does it have a perfect amount of shine but helps soften and condition the lips. These lip glosses can be worn alone, over a lip pencil or over a lipstick.
