8 Things I Know For Sure About Summer

I don’t know much, but I know I love summer. Is that not how the song goes? Oh.

In any case, I really don’t want summer to end. It seems like everyone around me is gearing up for fall – sweaters! boots! football! pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING! – and I really try to match the excitement, but I just can’t muster it up.

Summer just doesn’t last long enough. I need more corn on the cob and frozen lemonade and al fresco dining and daylight that lasts and lasts.

(Also, I don’t like the taste of pumpkin.)

But now that school is starting and Labor Day is just days away, I must accept the fact that the countdown to fall is on. So to celebrate my favorite season as it drifts away, here are 8 Things I Know For Sure About Summer:

1) Dreaming Of Being A Lifeguard Is A Childhood Rite Of Passage

Haha! You’re spot on about a man with his grill. Sometimes I swear that my husband spends more time with his than with me 🙂

I would add there is nothing a like a little salt water to clear your mind.
I too don’t want summer to end!!

I’d add, you can never have enough ice cream!

The only thing I would add is that salt water and sand can cure just about anything.

I don’t want summer to end either. Even if I do love the taste of pumpkin. Heavy sigh.

Taking the leap! Gah! Where is that? Looks like it could be Tiverton! When I see kids doing that I always tell my kids – don’t ever do that! Too dangerous! That’s quite a crowd! I do love summer. SO sad to see it go, but excited for all things fall.

Fireworks really are magical. I still find myself ooling and ahhing every time. Looks like you had a fantastic summer. I think we’re all sad to see it come to an end.

I was just saying the same thing about summer being too short during our first soccer practice last night! It seemed so long when school got out but yet, it’s now over! I think the only thing that I would add is that you can never have enough pool time in the summer months! Here’s to a great Fall!
