Perfection of Sage Spoonfuls and GIVEAWAY

When I was pregnant with William back in 2004, I was working full-time at Donna Karan, living in NYC and trying to figure out how I was going to raise my baby-boy-to-be in the City. There were a few things about motherhood that I was sure of before I actually had William (you know how it goes, the things you know for sure before you’re a mom)… one of them was that I wanted to make all my own baby food.

Well… when it came time for William to start on baby food, I was already 4 months pregnant with Alexander! Needless to say, life was a little hectic and crazy for us. I just didn’t have the time every single day to devote to making William’s baby food, so I caved in and started buying store-bought. Honestly, it bummed me out. I really wanted to do it because I felt it would be the healthiest option for my son, and then… sons.

Well, times… they have changed. BIG TIME.

Recently I came across Sage Spoonfuls on Twitter. I forget how I stumbled across the tweet, but when I did… I immediately clicked over to the site and was just blown away. This was what I needed back when my boys were babies! This was it! As soon as I read this, this is what got me…

You don’t need to be a chef, have a lot of time on your hands, or a kitchen full of fancy equipment to make and store your own baby food—in fact you’ll be shocked at how easy it is with the Sage Spoonfuls system. By spending just 1 hour every 2 weeks, you can have a freezer stocked with healthy and delicious baby food, made from safe, natural ingredients. Instead of going to the store to buy baby food, you can simply “go shopping” in your freezer!

… because I wasn’t a chef, I didn’t have fancy equipment in my apartment and I didn’t have tons of time each day to be in the kitchen.

You’re getting the luxury of homemade baby food, at the convenience of mom-time. It was wonderful seeing another mom “get it” and do something about it, and that’s how I learned of Liza’s story. I appreciated Liza’s willingness, drive and determination with Sage Spoonfuls to get out there and help other moms create nutritious, delicious and natural foods for their babies. (Thank you, Liza!)

This is my ultimate go-to-gift for all of my pregnant friends (and sister-in-law!).

I really need this because my 5 month old seems to only prefer the “organic” foods. I can’t seem to get her to eat any of the jarred baby foods. Hoping that if I win this I can get her to start eating solids, and of course (as I do with all my baby stuff right now) I would be passing it along to my sister in law for her baby due in april!

I would love this because the last child I had we had so many recalls on food that we had bought. I will not do that again this time around but making my own food is going to be totally new for me. I think this set would help me out in so many ways.

I’d love to win the Sage giveaway as it’d be such a fantastic set to use, and also to take when we travel! I love that you can freeze food right in the containers, thaw it in the containers, and feed it – no ice cube trays!

I felt the same way with my 1st…wanted to make her baby food but was overwhelmed by the process. Now with a 2nd baby due in Feb I would love to have something like this to start out making baby food! Having a new baby, a 2.5 year old, and a husband…I feel like one ofmy roles is managing the nutrition of my family…as the family grows the responsibility also grows! With Sage Spoonfuls I would be starting right away with our new baby…giving her nutritious food that I can control with different ingredients! Thanks for the opportunity!

We’ve spent about $200 on baby food since we introduced our son to solids at 5 months of age. He is now 7 months old. If we won this giveaway, I would definitely whip up some yummy homemade baby food for our little man, and at the same time save us some money.

I wanted to make my own baby food for my son 5 years ago and did some, but between bad storage solutions and cleaning the food processor I didn’t do it as often as I wanted. I think this is just what I need with baby #2 to succeed. Thanks for a chance to win.

I really need this because I want to know what my baby will be eating. By me making the food myself I have more control on the additives and preservations that will not be in my baby’s food. I will breastfeed for her wellbeing and I want to make her food for her wellbeing.

Oh my gosh! This is the coolest thing ever.. I really hope we win! With my husband and I only having one car we barely are getting home after 7 every night. Then, I have to feed us and our 4 month old baby girl. Time is just never on our side! I am definitely no chef either. I want to be able to say I did everything I could for her. I don’t want to give her that gross baby food from the store, but time and cooking ability may force me to if I’m not a winner of this amazing prize!

I need this because my son is hypersensitive to many different things so my only option is for me to bypass all of the unnecessary additives and make his food myself so that I can be sure to know everything that he eats and we can narrow down and hopefully pinpoint the things that he is sensitive to, I also spend most of my time as a single mom since my husband travels so frequently for the military so I need a super efficient way to make my sons food – all my time is valuable and anything that can make my life easier is a necessity!

I recently was diagnosed with an allergy to Balsam of Peru which is primarily a fragrance based allergy also found in many prepared foods, cosmetics, medications and home environment products. I have had to quickly learn about living fragrance free and alleviate most spices from my diet (sigh). This system would be wonderful for preparing and storing food items in advance. Great looking set…..might help to make this feel less like deprivation and more like I am preparing a treat for myself.

Don’t laugh….but I already make my dog’s food from scratch…..too many scary recalls, poor quality and questionable ingredients with little nutritional benefit. So I joined a local organic CSA. This set would be a wonderful prep and storage package for both of us!

Boy would this be a real helper when I have my two grandsons over. I will not buy the jarred foods, and have been making my own and storing in ice cube trays… not ideal.
