Fashion Trend: Would you wear this?

Fashion Trend: Would you wear this?

There are trends I see that I love.  There are trends I see that I hate.  And then there are those in-between trends.

I think about them, and then make my decision.

Past in-betweens for me have been red jeans (love), camo jeans (hate) and velvet flats (love).

Today’s?

This new trend of camisole OVER turtleneck.

Yup… over.

Now… I’m a HUGE camisole wearer… but usually under.

What are we thinking about this?

I’m thinking it’s a bit too much, but worth a try… because all you need is:

White Turtleneck
Black Camisole

Oh heck no. I would say maybe some people can pull it off, but that model certainly can’t, so maybe no one can? lol

It just looks like she got dressed in the dark and put her jammie shirt on, over her turtle neck, instead of something cute. Like the whole thing was a mistake.

I think I would like it better with a fitted camisole. I’m not crazy about the way the model is wearing it.

In my opinion that photo doesn’t do the layering idea justice! Last year’s holiday season I got the idea to layer this gorgeous red bustier I have over a black silk turtleneck sweater of mine. The bustier has a black floral pattern over it and laces up the front. My intent was to finish off the look with a structured black jacket left unbuttoned, of course, so that the bustier remains visible. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to wear the combo last year but this bustier is entirely too classy to be hidden from sight.

Before your mind pictures some strange visions from what I was attempting to describe, I should say that the bustier I was speaking about is not strapless. The shape of the shoulder “straps” are like that of a sleveless scoop neck top. Here’s to trends!
