Reasons Why I Love my Grandma
My grandmother turns 86 years old today!
86 years old… that’s a lotta’ life!
To celebrate my Grandma… I wanted to share 86 things I love about her… because she’s one of my #1 girl’s in my life!
Reasons Why I Love my Grandma
1. Her love of fashion.
2. How she always signs her cards to me… xoxo Grandma (I think that’s where I get my love of the “xoxo’s”)
3. She had my mother!
4. She always finds the time to visit.
5. Her smile.
6. Talking with her on the phone, ever since I was a little girl, I would call her up myself and talk to her for over an hour!
7. She LOVES strawberries!
8. That she’s tiny, but tough!
9. That she STILL to this DAY loves to workout.
10. That we’ve got her on email.
11. That she understands how to email!
12. She loves a good romance story.
13. She surprises the boys with a dollar bill every time she sees them.
14. She has never missed a birthday or an anniversary card for me or the boys!
15. She LOVES St. Patrick’s Day.
16. If she likes a blouse, she gets it in every color. I love that!
17. Watching her eyes light up when my boys run to her.
18. Her love of a good shopping trip.
19. Coming with me to find my wedding dress.
20. Staying overnight at our house every Christmas Eve when I was a child so she could see our faces when Santa arrived!
21. She plays the Wii with my boys (and she rocks at bowling!).
22. She’s funny as can be!
23. She’s amazingly kind to everyone…
24. She loves makeup!
25. The amount of shoes she has… I know where I get it from!
26. Her strength – emotionally and spiritually.
27. She reads MomGenerations.com
28. She’ll sit and watch the boys play for hours!
29. She looks beautiful in the color PINK.
30. She loves Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans.
31. She worries about me when I travel.
32. She listens to all the social media stuff I talk about and tries her best to understand it all.
33. She’s a proud Grandma and Great-Grandma.
34. She’s amazingly independent.
35. She loves to travel.
36. She exemplifies unconditional love.
37. I remember her making a mean lasagna!
38. She’s beautiful.
39. She loves my mother more than anything in the world, and it’s a beautiful thing to see.
40. She makes me want a daughter because I see their relationship.
41. Her laugh is contagious!
42. Her zest for life!
43. Her never-give-up attitude!
44. She would come to NYC and visit me as much as she could with my mom. That meant the world to me.
45. She loves her birthday.
46. She is a total fashionista… still knowing the trends!
47. She sends me appropriate clippings about motherhood… and I love that.
48. She loves to get letters and cards.
49. She loves my mom’s chicken soup.

50. She loves to tell me stories about my Grandfather.
51. I look at her and think how strong she was to keep going after my Grandfather passed away over 30 years ago.

54. She doesn’t let anything stop her.

56. She still dresses up for every occasion, and always looks beautiful.
57. She’s into handbags as much as I am…
58. She’s beyond generous.
59. She never asks for anything in return, just a giver.
60. Knows the news inside and out.
61. Loves to go to the movies.
62. Would babysit the boys in a heartbeat if she could.
63. She’s a savvy little lady!
64. Cares about the food she puts into her body, even at 86 years old!
65. She’s sweet. Very, very sweet.
66. Remembers a ton of stuff… it always amazes me.
67. Loves to see pictures of her family.
68. Hand picks the perfect card for everyone.
69. Loves my husband.
70. Cherishes the moments when she’s with me, my mom and my sister.
71. Always loves to know what makeup brand I have on.
72. She’s smart as a whip!
73. Came to the house before every dance and prom when I was in high school to see me off… I’ll never forget that!
74. She loves to be included in things, so I make sure she’s invited to everything we have going on.
75. She’s proud of the people she loves.
76. I love that I can call her up on the phone… and still talk about anything!
77. The boys keep her young!
78. I love hearing her tell my mom to “slow down”… she’s still a mother!
79. She loves her poached eggs!
80. I love that her apartment has so many breakable items, but when my sons come and visit… she doesn’t care if anything gets broken.
81. She’s an incredible role model.
82. I love getting her Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter cards.
83. I know I can go to her for anything…
84. She’s incredible.
85. She loves my Dad.
86. I’m the lucky one to have her in my life… my whole life I have felt her love. She’s someone who I just love to pieces and feel honored to have as my Grandma.
