“What is Beauty?” Contest: Win $50 Worth of Olay Products

“What is beauty?

Every woman will give you a different answer. And… that answer will probably change, too – throughout the course of a woman’s life. For me, it most certainly has.

I recently wrote about how I have been using Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Advanced Anti-Aging Body Wash.

I absolutely love it! I can finally day (after 5 1/2 years) that I have a beauty regimen. It’s easy. It’s practical. And it’s improving the condition of my body’s skin. It can’t get much better than that! For me… beauty right now is taking care of my body – inside and out. It’s starting a beauty regimen that is helping my body and my skin. This to me, right now in my life with my 4 little boys, is my beauty. It’s taking care of myself.

I’m so excited to announce that I’m running a contest with Olay – “What is beauty?”

Tell me “What is beauty?” We’re moms, we are constantly on-the-go… what are you doing in your life that is bringing some beauty to you? By leaving me a comment, you will have a chance to win $50 worth of Olay products!! These products will certainly get you going… or keep you going… with some beauty practice!

I will pick a winner Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at 5Pm EST!

Beauty is being happy in your own skin, no matter who you are, where you live or how old you are.

Beauty is something indefinable that emanates from a person and makes other people want to look at, talk to, be with the beautiful person. It’s being good, being caring, being happy, being at peace. Beauty feels just as good for the admirer as for the possessor.

Beauty is appreciating who you are – inside and out – enough to take care of it. That means treating your body well and pampering your soul.

Beauty is teaching my 3 girls and my son what real beauty is — and having them remember it later on in life when the world puts pressure on them to be superficial.

True beauty is coming to except who you are and what you have. All of us feel at times the grass is greener on the other side, but when we realize what we have is beautiful, you emit this confidence in yourself that all other see also, and your inner beauty will reflect on the outside one thousand times greater than anything you can do to mask it on the outside.

Beauty is inner and how we exude it outwardly. It is the way we interact with the people around us and how we make them feel. I find people more and more beautiful the nicer they are.

Beauty is the way you feel when you make somebody else happy. It’s the way you feel every time you look into the eyes of somebody that you love. And it’s the way you feel when your child says “mommy you’re pretty”!!

I think that Beauty is within. Outside beauty will fade but if you are a good person and are loving and caring that is the real beauty

Beauty is the smile on my face and the sparkle in my eye when husband expresses his love for me. They are the outward expressions of the warmth I feel inside.

Beauty is all around us — it’s seeing our surroundings with rose-colored glasses — it’s dawn and sunset; almost everything in nature — it’s the optimism of seeing life with the glass half-full and never empty 🙂 True beauty brings real happiness and love. *Thanks* for the giveaway!

I think beauty truly comes from within. When you have a heart that can open up in love and kindness, spirit and truth, that can be shared with all then true beauty can really shine. Beauty is letting the light shine through you. I think that one thing that I am trying to do in my life to bring beauty to me is to love others as the Lord loves me.

Beauty isn’t about looks. It is about how one feels when she wakes up and goes about her day. It is about feeling a sense of satisfaction, that you are shimmering both inside and out with a glistening that everyone around you can detect.

I think beauty is a reflection of your own life and happiness. The first thing I thought of as an example was how beautiful a new Mom is when holding her newborn baby- nothing can compare to that moment and the happiness you experience. No make-up, hair dye or other products make a woman beautiful. It’s all about what is within and feeling at one with yourself and the world around you. I know when I held my son for the first time, I felt more at peace than ever before. All was right with the world. Since then I’ve viewed the world differently- I can see beauty in almost everything all thanks to my wonderful family!

Beauty is “shown” in the way we treat others. A kind word or a smile lights up not only your own face, but the faces of others.

Beauty is different things to different people. For me, it’s being happy in my own skin. It’s not feeling like you have to be in full blown make up every day if that’s not what you want to do. It’s greating totally full blown for an exciting evening out. It’s being there for our families and friends. It’s being who we want to be and not what others want us to be. It’s shining from the inside out and loving it. I hope that makes sense, but it is what beauty means to me.

I’ve decided that true beauty is in aging gracefully and sharing our talents to do good things for others. I don’t obsess with the indelible marks that motherhood has left on my body, but instead, look upon them with gratitude and pride for the gifts that they represent. I believe the lines in a woman’s face tell an epic tale of laughs, tears, worries and joys that are precious and worthy of reverence. All that said, a woman is deserving of self care. Self preservation, nurturing, self respect and love should not be denied. Life is fleeting all on its own – there is no need to rush the aging process if we can help it. 🙂

Beauty is what you make of it. I think that true beauty is on the inside. I nice, caring person on the inside is so much for beautiful than someone who is pretty on the outside, but selfish on the inside. A person’s fabulous attitude makes them beautiful no matter how they might look.

Beauty is what eminates from your being, your soul. The kind heart, the gentle spirit, the generous nature, the loving actions that flood the skin with shining hints of beauty. The smile that says “I care,” the hands that help, and the eyes that sparkle with love. This is true beauty.
